I intended to gesso out the bleed through on the left page, but didn’t get around to it. I kind of like the cowboy pointing at the figure on the right.
I’m one of those people who tends to gravitate towards solitude. I like it. I meant for the face of the figure on teh right to be more washed out but didn’t get to wash it out. I left it. The shadow was done in ebony pencil. I hate ebony pencil, with a passion.
I've been silently reading Ricë Freeman-Zachery's blog for awhile now. I've also been watching her videos on YouTube and had a few of them up here recently. Her work is great and I've been loving her blog. Head over and give it a read as well as check out her podcasts. It's well worth the effort, believe me.

I did this image for union. I used it as a technique video as well, you can find it on youtube. I started by putting a THICK layer of white acrylic paint on the background. I scratched into it to write. I used a mask to keep the center area white while I built up layers of color and grunge around it. I then pulled the mask off and added a layer of clear gesso, I could have used white but the clear left the little bits of color that made their way under the mask. I drew the face of the sheep in with soft pencil and white acrylic paint. I then added the original queen of merde image with a dragon from a bacardi ad wrapped around her head. I’m very happy with how this turned out.

Sometimes I get inspired by looking at other people's art. This image makes me want to work with 3 or 4 colors- yellow ochre, blue, black and white… Yeah someday.
So as I’ve searched through vimeo I’ve found that it probably won’t be as much of a time sink as youtube. Why? There are a lot of boring wordy videos that last for 10 to 15 minutes.
Hopefully when I start doing videos again I won’t be as boring.

About a month ago I was contacted by Chronicle Books about hosting a give away on my blog of products from the new Moleskine line of products. Unable to say NO to anything free, I accepted. I expected a small amount of products, one or 2 sets of books. Instead I received, via Fedex, a large box. In it were several colors and sets of the 5×8 Volants, a set of the pocket sized volants, a desk calendar and the hottest thing in there, several Color A Month Planners.
The original video I had up for today didn't work. The artist wasn't allowing people to host it on their blogs. Boo to that. Teesha Moore is way better anyway.
I like this image of doodles from a meeting. I'm a meeting doodler too. I have several work notebooks full of detailed notes and lots of doodles. I tend to bring 2 or 3 pens with me in different colors and doodle in multiple colors ALSO I use the multi colors to take notes in. Important info gets underlined in red, things I need to remember circled in blue. That sort of thing… Wow that made me sounds really neurotic… These aren't my doodles though.
